Exodus 15:26 declares: If thou wilt diligently
hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is
right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep
all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I
have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee.
This is one of the many promises of healing contained in God’s Word.
Notice that it is in the present tense, for this is very important.
God did not say, “I was the Lord who healed you,” or “I will be the
Lord who will heal.” He said, “I am,” which implies He is
continuously, forever our Healer. This promise is also conditional,
for it begins with the word if. What does God mean by “if thou…wilt
give ear to [My] commandments?” We can’t live incorrectly and expect
God to heal us. This is a covenant promise intended for those who live
their lives according to God’s guidelines. When we meet the
conditions, the promise is ours. What God spoke two thousand years
ago, He continues to say today.
3 John 2 declares: Beloved, I wish above all things that thou
mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
In other words, God would prefer that we not get sick in the first
place. That’s what the Bible says. It is God’s desire for His people
to be healthy and prosperous.
Mark 5:29 says: And straightway the fountain of her blood was
dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of the plague.
The divine realm requires faith. It’s in the divine realm that we
appropriate the promises of God. Many have gone beyond the limitations
of the natural realm, just as the woman did who had the issue of
blood. Scripture tells us that she had spent all of her money on
physicians. Her condition, however, had not improved, and she had
become worse. After she had pursued all the options that the natural
realm offered, she sought help in the divine realm. In desperation she
said, “If I may touch the hem of His garment, I shall be made whole.”
When she reached out to touch the hem of Jesus’ garment, she reached
into the divine realm. She exercised her faith, and she was not
disappointed. Jesus testified of her healing:
Mark 9:34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy
faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.
If doctors have said, “We’re sorry – there’s not hope; there’s nothing
we can do for you,” don’t give up. God’s Word promises, “I am the Lord
that healeth thee.” Reach out with your faith and touch Jesus.
Leviticus 3:17 It shall be a perpetual statue for your
generations throughout all your dwellings, that ye eat neither fat nor
blood.
Do you know what “perpetual statue” suggests? It was the law given not
only for the moment, but for all ages of time. And what is the
command? It is a severe warning that we should not eat fat or
blood.
Leviticus 11:2-4 “Speak to the children of Israel, saying,”
These are the animals which you may eat among all the animals that are
on the earth.
‘Among the animals, whatever divides the hoof, having cloven hoofs and
chewing the cud-that you may eat. ‘Nevertheless these you shall not
eat among those that chew the cud or those that have cloven hooves:
the camel, because it chews the cud but does not have cloven hooves,
is unclean to you: the rock hyrax, because it chews the cud but does
not have clove hooves, is unclean to you; the hare, because it chews
the cud but does not have cloven hooves, is unclean to you; and the
swine, thought it divides the hoof, having cloven hooves, yet does not
chew the cud, is unclean to you.
Meats are an important part of the American diet, but alarming
questions have been raised regarding their fat content. Animals store
very large amounts of toxins, pesticides and industrial wastes in
their fatty tissues. The fattier the piece of meat, the greater the
potential for the storage of pesticides. Many thousands of pesticides
are being sprayed on our land each year, and the cattle that graze on
the land are ingesting them. These harmful substances not only
ingested by these animals, but are immediately stored in their fat.
So, if you are fond of fatty pieces of meat, such as T-bone steaks or
ribs, you’re eating more than protein. You are transferring loads of
pesticides into your body. The fattier the cut of meat, the more
carcinogens it contains. The meat of animals, especially the fatty
parts, often contains carcinogens and neurotoxins-a poisonous protein
complex that acts on the nervous system-which can poison us. I believe
these poisons are contributors to many of the neurological diseases
common today. Pesticides include herbicides, rat poisons, fungicides
and insecticides. Many insecticides attack the nervous systems of
insects and rodents. When we take in fatty meats, pesticides that may
contain neurotoxins go into our own fatty tissues and can eventually
work their way into our brains. What happens? This material can
actually begin to make our brains toxic by accumulating in the cells
of this vital organ. We still don’t understand all the problems
associated with this phenomenon because we don’t do studies on human
brains. I believe we will eventually discover that many of these
neurotoxins and pesticides are key causes of the neurological diseases
that we’re seeing in our nation.
Leviticus 11:9-10 These shall ye eat of all that are in the
waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas,
and in the rivers, them shall ye eat. And all that have not fins and
scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters,
and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an
abomination unto you.”
Interestingly, when this scripture was written the water supply was
clean. No Industrial Revolution with its factories, chemical
contaminates and pesticides had yet contaminated the earth’s lakes and
streams. Nevertheless, this passage offers a caution about shellfish.
